In her 17+ years here at Appalachian Land Company, Connie Watkins has been so much more to Joey and Sonya Reid than a licensed assistant. As their experienced closing processor, Connie makes sure each transaction goes smoothly from start to finish, aiding the customers as well as the agents.
Born and raised in the Marble area, Connie was the 11th of 13 children. She and her husband of over 30 years, Bob Watkins, grew up together and started dating after they met at church. They have one daughter, Amanda, and one grandson, Kole. Connie said she likes the friendliness of the people and the beautiful mountains, and that is what makes this area home.
Connie graduated from Andrews High School in 1981 and worked for a while at area sewing factories. When the Levi’s plant closed, she was given the opportunity to go back to school. Connie attended Tri-County Community College and graduated with an Associate’s degree in accounting. She said it is wonderful how God closes one door and opens another. Soon after graduating, a friend told her about Appalachian Land Company and she began working here because she liked it so well.
